Regarded as one of Italy's premier white wines (a previous winner of Gambero Rosso's Italian White Wine of the Year award), no producer gives better service to Verdicchio - a grape of unique acidity and nutty character and, with this producer, capable of becoming rich and elegant with age. Careful winemaking results in a truly crafted wine with real balance, both refreshing and rich, delicate and persistent. Don't serve too cold (10-14 degrees) and enjoy with fish, shellfish, or white meats.

From a single vineyard, Pongelli is made with old vines (up to 40 years old) and very low yields. Despite a year in oak, the wine is deliciously supple and mellow, boasting the bright red fruit flavours typical of these two grape varieties, but keeping a racy 'edge' and structure. A good match for game, pigeon, and rustic, meaty Italian pasta dishes.
