Jarkko Peränen doesn’t believe in grading his Classico wines. This means that, whilst other producers will put the pick of the crop aside, destined to become a pricier riserva, all efforts here are focused on producing this, the flagship expression from Candialle.

Mixing the best that organic farming has to offer with the advantages of modern farming techniques, this blend, despite it’s international background (French grapes grown by Swiss winemakers in the Tuscan hills!) is all about the terroir.

Fruit-forward in style, this is a remarkably approachable and supple Barolo. Intense, fine flavours of cherry and rosehip linger atop a warm, soft mouthfeel to create a persistent, powerful and excellent value wine.

The Arzenhof vineyard, overlooking Lake Caldaro, is set aside for Di Pauli’s serious red wine production. The climate is distinctly Mediterranean-influenced and is further tempered by the effects of the lake, allowing the vineyard to develop power and fruit well into the autumn harvest.
