Manni Nossing’s Kerner represents a virtuoso performance, squeezing ripe, fleshy lychee and pink grapefruit flavours out of an often overlooked, and, it seems, underrated grape variety.

Jarkko Peränen doesn’t believe in grading his Classico wines. This means that, whilst other producers will put the pick of the crop aside, destined to become a pricier riserva, all efforts here are focused on producing this, the flagship expression from Candialle.

About as good as it gets in terms of authentic Classico, this riserva takes San Giusto's Chianti a step further with rigorous grape selection from selected vineyards, a higher percentage of Sangiovese, and a longer ageing period - this time in new oak. A rich, punchy and concentrated style with bramble and plum flavours and a strong backbone. A wine with many years ahead of it.

Inky black and charmingly rough around the edges, this is a bold expression of Garnacha with notes of tobacco and game and a gripping structure. A unique wine well worth discovering.

One of Paleine's 'niche' prestige wines, the Moderato is a formidable red. Only produced in the best vintages, and with very low yields, it strikes a perfect balance between woody richness and the fresh crispness typical of Cabernet Franc. A dense, smooth, extracted wine, high in alcohol but very well-integrated. One for keeping.
