Enosi

(50% Riesling, 35% Sauvignon, 15% Gewürztraminer)

This wine suggests balance from the start – its name, Greek for ‘putting together’, is an apt description for this careful blend of these most expressive of grape varieties.

Enosi offers a lively, exotic nose, evocative of peach, elderberry and citrus, and supported by a finesse that originates in the interplay between the warm days and cool nights that temper the lakeside vineyards.

A little about the producer
Di Pauli, whose wines originally enjoyed high esteem in the aristocratic circles of 19th century Vienna, is one of the stand‐out producers in a region that has arguably the highest concentration of quality winemaking in Italy. Turning towards native grape varieties such as Gewürztraminer, Lagrein, and Vernatsch, this estate takes advantage of the tempering influence of Lake Kaltern and its two distinctive vineyard sites to produce completely natural wines of great balance, delicacy and refinement – not to mention unique, and sometimes controversial, character.

Winemaker's notes
Following a rather dry winter, the early months of 2008 saw quite heavy and frequent rainfall. The summer too witnessed above average precipitation. Autumn, however, was straight out of a picturebook, with the best possible conditions. The grapes had perfect conditions in which to ripen, for harmonious, fruity wines with a pleasant acid structure.
