A little about us…

Sam Devaney
After finishing a degree in Classics, Sam flirted with the idea of a career in Film and TV production. Before long he realised that there was more to life than dragging reels around Soho and making cups of tea, and decided to make a change. In 2001 Sam and his partner moved to Tuscany in search of inspiration and from that moment began a love affair with all things Italian, in particular the wine. After managing some of the most prolific wine bars and restaurants in Florence he developed a profound enjoyment and respect for the food and wine of Italy alongside a great network of contacts in the winemaking world. Whilst living in the heart of the Chianti Classico region and driving round dusty old roads, meeting winemakers and sampling their wares, he decided to try bringing some of these great wines over to England. So after a chat with Simon, over a glass of wine of course, tengreenbottles was born.

Sam is a founding member of tengreenbottles and plays a leading role in developing the business and finding new producers and wines for the portfolio. His speciality is on trade sales and negotiating with sommeliers until they agree to taste the wines…

Simon Broad
Simon developed his passion for wine after getting part way through a PhD in Creative Writing and wondering what else, apart from reading books all day, did he really like doing? Drinking good wine came top of the list. After managing the restaurant at Hotel du Vin, Winchester, and sharing a flat with the sommelier team – Claire Thevenot and Laura Rhys, both who have since won the title of UK Sommelier of the year – he was hooked on great wine and finding out as much as he could about it.

Simon is a founding partner of tengreenbottles and plays an integral role in all aspects of the business, particularly in the ongoing process of selecting wines for the portfolio. Day-to-day, he deals mostly with the administration and e-commerce side of the business – for any questions please contact him using the link below.

Gérald Beaumont
From an ancien Angevin vigneron family Géralds first childhood memory is on his Grandfather’s vineyard learning what ‘being’ a winemaker involved. After 10 years in England Gérald returned to Paris where he successfully opened a ‘cave à vin’/'bar à vin’ which received an annual reference in the Top 10 ‘cave à vin’/'bar à vin’ to visit in Paris. Gérald is our contact in France, helping us source wines and organise logistics. He
also represents a highly referenced vineyard in the Loire.
